Arrion Springs, a four-star defensive back from Roosevelt High in San Antonio, Texas, honored a summer verbal commitment, becoming a Duck this morning, officially announced by goducks.com and confirmed by Rivals and 247 Sports.

No Opening: even without pads, Arrion Springs provides blanket coverage and makes receivers pay. John Neal will make him an NFL player (Steve Dykes, USA Today sports images).

5-11, 192, a 4.44 speedster with spider-like agility and cover skills, Springs originally chose Oregon at The Opening last July during a standout camp performance. Texas, USC, Oklahoma and Florida all took runs at him but he remained solid to the Ducks, an influential recruit who encouraged other athletes around the country to take a look at the program.

Springs had 43 tackles as a senior and was an UnderArmour All-American. He's a superb tackler with good hands and timing contesting the football, excellent ball skills.

He'll join a secondary that loses three starters, and compete for early playing time, rated the 9th best cornerback in the country by 247 Sports.
