Let me remind you of what Duncan Keith did the other night:
Most people, including many Chicago Blackhawks fans, though Keith should be suspended for turning his stick into a weapon, and trying to reorganize Charlie Coyle’s face. The NHL was reluctant to hand down a significant suspension, instead only giving Keith 6 games, which will carry through the remainder of the regular season, which is generally meaningless at this point for the Hawks, and one game of the postseason. What lesson does that teach Keith? That if he acts out just enough, he can be well rested, just in time for a post season run. Trying to lop off Coyle’s nose was probably Keith’s smartest move of the season.
SCOREBOARD
Detroit 3, Minnesota 2 – Somehow, it worked out that Minnesota is more secure in a playoff spot than Detroit, who currently sits in 9th.
Boston 6, St. Louis 5 – 11 goals, all in regulation. That’s terrific action.
Chicago 5, Winnipeg 4 (OT) – The Blackhawks were without Duncan Keith for a late season game against Winnipeg. Sorry, I take all that back. What a brutal suspension!
Washington 4, Colorado 2 – The Avs really can’t afford to drop any more points from here on out.
Vancouver 3, Anaheim 2 – Now, of all times, the Canucks have decided to start winning some games.
