TD Ameritrade purchasing Scottrade will have a big impact on the St. Louis area, including the potential loss of hundreds of jobs. One of the most public changes, which should be noted is among the least important, is the fact the Scottrade Center will inevitably take on a new name. According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the Scottrade Center will be renamed the TD Ameritrade Center at some point in the future.

Following the finalization of the merger, the Scottrade name will be phased out, including at the Scottrade Center arena downtown, home of the National Hockey League’s St. Louis Blues. The arena’s name will be changed to TD Ameritrade Center, Hockey said. The contract for the naming rights runs through 2021. “We’ll be talking to the owners of Scottrade Center,” he said.
When the news of the acquisition was announced, hockey fans wondered what would become of the Scottrade Center as TD Bank already has the naming rights of TD Garden which serves as the home of the Boston Bruins. TD Ameritrade Center will now reportedly serve as the home the Blues, following the other iterations such as the Kiel Center, Savvis Center and the Scottrade Center.
