MATCHUP:
The Timberwolves will travel to Sacramento and play, for their first time, in the brand new Golden 1 Center that is home to the Kings. Part of a $1 billion-dollar development project, the new shiny arena is one of the highest-tech in the land.
Some of the most unique features include 630 thousand square-footage of restaurant and retail space, airplane hangar-type doors that make the stadium an indoor/outdoor combination when wanted, and an in-arena app that allows the fans in attendance to control the temperature at their seat.
The Wolves will look to add their first win of the young season after losing 102-98 to the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday. The Kings enter the game with a 1-1 record, beating the Phoenix Suns and falling to the San Antonio Spurs previously at home.

Timberwolves: Nikola Pekovic – out/season (recurring foot pain)
Kings: Darren Collison – out (suspension)
LAST MEETING:
The Timberwolves and Kings met four times last season, with the Wolves sweeping the series matchup 4-0. The first contest on Nov. 27 ended in a 101-91 Wolves victory. Their second meeting on Dec. 18 resulted in a close win for the T-wolves, 99-95. On March 23, the Wolves gained the third series win by a score of 113-104.
Their final meeting occurred on April 7, a game that ended with the Wolves securing the sweep, 105-97 at Target Center in Minneapolis.
The most recent matchup in April, Nemanja Bjelica, Zach LaVine, and Gorgui Dieng all had solid nights, scoring 18-points each to help secure the victory.
Darren Collison had an effective night for the Kings as well, netting 19 points and six assists. DeMarcus Cousins did not play in the game, and will look to give Towns a good battle Saturday night.
NOTEWORTHY:
The two big-men in the game will look to be featured early, and often. DeMarcus Cousins is coming off a monster game for the Kings, garnering 37 points, 16 rebounds, and two assists against the tough San Antonio Spurs.
Karl-Anthony Towns had a nice night against the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday, but one that isn’t quite up to his personal standards. He managed 21 points, five assist, and four rebounds after having a quiet second-half.
Look for Towns and Cousins to battle all-night in the paint, but also around the arc, as both bigs can stretch the floor. Both attempted over 75 three-point shots last season.
