Spurs Fans React To Loss

Spurs fans were scratching their heads after last night’s loss to the depleted Portland Trail Spurs Fans React To LossBlazers. How could this Spurs team suffer a defeat against a team without Greg Oden, Brandon Roy, Joel Pryzbilla, Nicholas Batum, Rudy Fernandez, and Travis Outlaw? Even Blazers’ coach, Nate McMillan, came into the game last night injured.

There are so many things to point to such as the Spurs getting out rebounded on the offensive glass, poor execution, turnovers, or simply lack of heart. The point is the Spurs lost a game they should not have.

Seems like Spurs fans’ frustrations are mounting up and now Project Spurs fans are chiming in on last night’s loss. Here is what they had to say and no the first commentor was not me.

New York City had to say:

Imagine the look on my face when I rolled out of bed this morning and mosied on over to the computer (because the game wasn’t broadcasted) to check last night’s trouncing we dealt to the depleted Portland Jail Blazers. I was in no rush. What’s left of the Trail Blazers after last night’s mauling will surely still be lying in a body cast in an ICU somewhere in Portland. They’re not going anywhere. What.  And then I saw the score. Then I hit refresh on the browser.  Then I checked the date. Then I rubbed my eyes. And checked the date again.

Then I gouged my eyes out and flushed them down the toilet, along with any illusions of winning a championship this season.

I am so pissed off right now. Not even angry–just disappointed. I am so crushed, I can’t even muster up the gumption to be angry.  How the hell did we lose this one?? How???

This is completely inexplicable. I just have no words left. I am officially hitting the Panic Button on the season. I hate to say this, but I don’t think we will even make it to the playoffs this year.  Hate me if you want, but I am just too dejected now to see any hope of salvation. I’ve been defending this team and letting the nay-sayers with their premature paniculation roll off my back up to this point, but this loss is the straw that breaks the camel’s back.

What the hell is wrong with this squad?? I was so excited over the summer. I thought we had one of the best squads in memory, and now… And now… this.

MartyJay had to say:

I don’t know about you guys but if a Portland team beat us even without there top scorer, why should we be considered a championship team ? .. I know it’s easier said than done about the team chemistry but I think they should start having sleepovers just to get really acquainted with each other .. It’s just getting frustrating for us SPURS fans .. sigh .. Come’on SPURS ! .. We still believe in you !!!

No New York City I do not hate you for saying what you did and MartyJay it is frustrating for Spurs fans. Spurs fans have every right to be upset with this team. After a great off-season pulling in Richard Jefferson, drafting DeJuan Blair, and seeing Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili fully rested, Spurs fans have every right to expect better out of this current team.  Furthermore, the Spurs have not proven themselves against quality teams this year.

Do these remarks make these Spurs fans not “true fans?” No way. Spurs fans need to realize this team is out of sorts. And just because some Spurs fans voice their displeasure with the team’s performance does not make them any less of a fan.
