Over the past weekend alone, we saw a receiver suffer his third concussion in ten months, potentially putting his career in jeopardy (remember when the NFL tried to deny it had a concussion problem), a kicker who thinks he’s Nigel Gruff from the Replacements, and has been suspended 4 games for violating the substance abuse program, and our NFL handicapper’s big preseason bet take a huge blow with an oft-injured quarterback once again out for the season. All of this means the new NFL season is just 10 days away, and with it, another year of Philly Fast Break’s free NFL survivor contest.
For those unfamiliar with the survivor format, you select one NFL team each week to win its game outright (i.e. regardless of spread). If your team wins, you advance to the next week; if they lose, you are out. The catch is you can only use a particular team once throughout the season. Last participant standing wins!
There are two ways to enter the free contest:
- Follow @PhillyFastBreak on twitter and retweet the message for this contest page; or
- Like the official Philly Fast Break facebook page and share the link to this contest page.
The contest winner will receive $100 (it’s winner-takes-all folks). In the event of a tie, if multiple people get through the entire regular season unblemished, prize money will be split evenly.
Picks each week can either be messaged via twitter to @PhillyFastBreak, posted to the facebook page, or e-mailed to [email protected] (if you don’t want the opposition wise to your pick ahead of time). All picks must be in before the first game of the week (this means before the Thursday night game). We will be tweeting our weekly selection at the first snap of each week, and as always, you have to beat the official Philly Fast Break entry along with everyone else to take home the pot. So think long and hard on those selections and good luck to everyone!
After a prolonged two-man battle, we finally had a winner in Week 14. Congrats to @Kmac732!
