At least the Browns have one thing to be thankful for on Thanksgiving.
Robert Griffin III was scheduled to return to practice Wednesday, according to the team website.
Yeah, it’s only RGIII, but at least it’s something.
Griffin was placed on the injured reserve-designated to return list after hurting his left shoulder in the season opener at Philadelphia. The Browns (0-11) have 21 days to decide whether to activate Griffin or keep him on injured reserve for the rest of the season.
Rookie quarterback Cody Kessler, who has started eight games, suffered a concussion in Sunday’s loss to the Steelers and is out Sunday against the Giants. He could be on the shelf for the rest of the season. Josh McCown has started two games and appeared in four, throwing five touchdown passes and six interceptions. He’ll start Sunday.
If Griffin plays again this season, he won’t solve all the Browns’ problems. He might not solve any of their problems. But the Browns will forever wonder how differently their 2016 season would have turned out if Griffin wasn’t injured.
Maybe they’d have one win instead of none.
