Here is something boring: The Chicago Blackhawks are dominating the Western Conference once again. They have the most points out West, and are tied for second behind Montreal with 33 points. They are doing this while being fairly pedestrian on the road, which means that when they are at the United Center, they are practically unbeatable. Indeed, their record is 9-1-2. Dominant.
Not that we’re noticing, though. Why is that? Is it because the ‘Hawks have been so dominant for so long? Are we burned out on Chicago hockey? Is it simply because we are only a quarter of the way through the season? Or is it because the Blackhawks aren’t even the hottest thing in Chicago right now, given the Cubs finally breaking their curse.
I think it’s time for everyone to watch the Blackhawks again. Patrick Kane just isn’t boring, no matter how persistent his success is. The Hawks are currently squaring off with New Jersey.
