The San Antonio Spurs are the ultimate road warriors this season. Their 105-91 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday night moved the team to 13-0 away from home this season.
Spurs small forward Kawhi Leonard led all players with 31 points, one rebound, and four assists. Wolves shooting guard Zach LaVine led the home team with 25 points, three rebounds, and two assists. Meanwhile, Center Karl-Anthony Towns set a franchise record with at least one block in 28 straight games.

The Wolves went into halftime with a narrow 46-43 lead, but another stinker of a second half sealed their fate again. It appears that this type of play with be the rule, and not the exception, for Minnesota this season. While wins like the Wolves 125-120 overtime victory versus the Charlotte Hornets on Saturday night are exciting, they are only an early window into the future for now.

Overall, the Twittersphere seems to agree that the Wolves played well, but the Spurs are a tough opponent to beat perennially. Even without veteran point guard Tony Parker last night, San Antonio remained consistent in its performance.
The Wolves will need to use this loss to spur their performance this week. They travel to the Air Canada Centre tomorrow to face the Eastern Conference’s number one team, the Toronto Raptors. Then, Minnesota returns home to face the Detroit Pistons on Friday and the Golden State Warriors on Sunday.
