After a solid performance at the Great Britain U20 tournament, San Antonio Spurs draftee Ryan Richards was invited to participate in Great Britain’s preliminary men’s senior team.
It was much deserved but at first blush, it seemed Richards would probably not make the roster, or will he?
According to assistant coach Tim Lewis, Richards has been impressive enough to possibly make the men’s team and had this to say about the young man:
“Ryan, in terms of his physicality, has come on a huge amount in the past year and he now knows what he needs to do to succeed at the highest level,” said Lewis. “Him and Devon are not going to back down at that level.”
Not too bad for a player who is coming off shoulder surgery and has displayed a huge amount of potential on the court. Richards is a versatile big man who can score, rebound, has quickness and can handle the ball on the perimeter.
Keep up the solid work Richards. All Spurs fans are keeping close watch on your development and hope to see you in the black and silver soon.
