Robert Horry on the lockout, says Rudy Gay reminds him of himself

Even though the NBA won’t be starting anytime soon, if you’re jonesing for some basketball action, you can pick up NBA 2K12 today. Several NBA players, past and present, were at the launch party to celebrate the arrival of the new game. Kevin Durant, the Lopez twins, Scottie Pippen and former San Antonio Spurs player Robert Horry were all on hand.

The New York Post covered the event, and when they talked to Horry, they asked him which of today’s players reminded Horry of himself when he was younger. His answer was Rudy Gay of the Memphis Grizzlies, but added that Gay is better than he was.

Horry also threw in his two cents on the lockout, saying that he thought it was silly to argue over pennies when no one wins in the end. But it was clear he wanted the lockout to end, he doesn’t have much hope for NBA players’ alternative careers.

If you’re interested in the video game, there was one thing I learned from the launch party that stood out. Some players will be left out because of the lockout. As soon as it’s over, those players will be added back in via download. I’m not sure which players will be omitted, but that’s something to keep an eye on.

For the most part, the reviews for the game seem to be positive, definitely worth checking out if you like the series.
