Now that San Antonio Spurs’ Tony Parker has committed to play in France, all eyes are on Manu Ginobili and if he will indeed accept an offer from his former team, Italian club Virtus Bologna.
But with the NBA lockout erasing all preseason games and likely to eat into the regular season, Manu isn’t in any rush to pack his bag for Italy and accept Virtus’ offer.
“My body needs a break. Today I (cannot) decide. If they need someone else, then they should consider it.” (via www.ole.com.ar)
Seeing Manu take time to rest after a long championship run at the FIBA Americas tournament is a pretty smart decision on his part. He suffered an elbow injury right before the playoffs and played in the Grizzlies series with a fractured bone in his elbow.
Though he showed he is at full strength during the summer tournament, any time Ginobili takes to rest is welcomed among Spurs fans and Spurs coaching staff.
