As the NBA lockout continues to drag on, many players are doing what they can to train and stay in semi-game condition without risking the chance of injury by joining a basketball league.
One such player is Indiana Pacers’ Roy Hibbert who recently trained with San Antonio Spurs’ Tim Duncan and a variety of NBA players. According to Mike Wells of IndyStar.com, Hibbert is headed back to San Antonio to workout with Duncan.
Center Roy Hibbert plans to head back to San Antonio and work with future Hall of famer Tim Duncan again.
As I recently spoke with George Hill in Brownsville, Hill commented on the leadership and poise a player like Hibbert could learn from Duncan.
“That’s Tim for you, he’s a great leader. Tim Duncan helped his game. That helped him out a whole bunch.”-Hill on Hibbert working with Duncan.
Though the NBA lockout is mainly seeing as a negative, an opportunity like this for Hibbert could be a major positive as he’s getting the rare opportunity to workout and learn from a future hall of famer in Duncan. Had there not been a lockout, a moment like this wouldn’t have been possible.
However, let’s hope Timmy isn’t revealing all his basketball skills to Hibbert. Wouldn’t want Hibbert to use any of his new found skills on the Spurs this coming season.
