Terence Newman May Play Against the Bears

Terence Newman May Play Against the BearsNewman has been practicing more, and looks like he could very well play against the Bears this Sunday Night. If he plays, it will be in the nickel and dime packages for sure.

…all signs point toward that decision being a favorable one for the Cowboys’ defense even though the veteran cornerback still is listed as questionable on Friday’s injury report.

While Jacques Reeves might very well start in place of Newman for a third consecutive game, there seems a better possibility of the Cowboys easing Newman back onto the field as a nickel back since he has not played in an actual game since limited duty back on Aug. 9 in the first preseason game. Other Injuries

Greg Ellis is out for the season, or at least he might as well be. Ellis is listed as out for the Bears game and his practice on the field remains limited. At best I expect Ellis to return after the bye week, seriously. Oliver Hoyte is banged up, and listed as probable so backup Deon Anderson could get his first start this week. Anderson is a big hitter on special teams, and could make some big time blocks for Romo and the other RBs. Let’s hope he can put on a show for us and open up some lanes for Jones and Barber.
