The Memphis Tigers (10-3, 7-1 AAC) notched another milestone today as they finished the 2014 season ranked No.25 in the final AP Top 25 poll. It’s the Tigers first ever Top 25 finish.
Memphis won its first American championship in 2014 (school’s first conference title since 1971), and won 10 games for the first time since 1938.
The Tigers’ Top 25 finish is a major accomplishment for their up-and-coming program, but perhaps it means more for the perception of the American Athletic Conference, which struggled in its second season of play. Look for Memphis to carry the AAC banner into 2015.
