Paul Pierce has dropped hints that he could spend a few years in Greece when his NBA days are over. But he's been saying more often that he's not going to bolt for LA when he retires. He said it again last night… he's staying in Boston for good.
“I feel like I’m always going to keep my home here,” said Pierce, who made his way through the snow and sleet for last night’s 124-105 victory against the Knicks. “I feel like I’m always going to have something to do with the organization. I’ve put a lot of time in here, and I feel like I can still have a lot of influence after I’m done playing. I’d like to possibly give something back in a way. So I feel like I’ll always have a home here in Boston."
There's a lot of good stuff in that piece. He sounds like he's morphing into a bit of a New Englander.
Paul Pierce might not have taken the "traditional" road to becoming a life-long Celtic… but that's exactly what he is now. Paul is one of the greats, and he deserves to be mentioned with Russell, Havlicek and Bird.
