Peter Vecsey, the ultimate NBA insider, is heading inside the Basketball Hall of Fame.
Vecsey, The Post's NBA columnist nationally renowned for his
irreverent, always ahead-of-the-curve "Hoop Du Jour," will be inducted
during festivities on Sept. 10-11 in Springfield, Mass., after
receiving the Curt Gowdy Media Award.
I'm guessing Vecsey didn't lose any points with the Hall of Fame committee for the all the stories he got WRONG over the past few years.
However, the guy is a pioneer, one of the first NBA "insiders" who wasn't afraid to publicly criticize players and coaches. I'll be honest, I loved watching him on the "NBA on NBC" back in the early 90s.
