This is probably not a new story… but I don't recall hearing it. The Clippers tried like hell to draft Rajon Rondo to trade up and draft Rajon Rondo in 2006.
"We thought that Phoenix would take him because of the fit that he
would make for their team," said Mike Dunleavy, the Clippers' head
coach and president of basketball operations. "We tried like heck,
after (draft pick) 16 down, to try and take him. "The Clippers were well aware of Rondo's biggest flaw, which has been shooting from the perimeter.
"Everything else he does is pretty terrific," Dunleavy said.
I'm sure Rajon's ACL's are thankful for things turning out how they did.
