Your Morning Dump… Where Sheed knows this is why he’s here

Sheed jumper 2

Every
morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here…
highlighting the big storyline.  Because there’s nothing quite as
satisfying as a good morning dump.

“I knew that’s what it was going to
be. Not wishing any ill will on my man [Garnett], but I knew he was
coming off that injury, I knew he wasn’t going to be able to go hard
like he wants to for the whole season,’’ Wallace said after scoring 29
points in the Celtics’ 114-107 win over the Raptors yesterday. “But we
both knew at some point he would sit out a couple games to give that
knee a rest. And, I mean, that’s what I was here for.

“Once he comes back, if my minutes decrease, that’s fine. I’m not tripping on it.’’

Globe: Performance the latest sign Wallace was good acquisition

Doc said last week that sitting KG for a few days was in some ways a blessing in disguise.  This is what he was talking about.  The added minutes just make him a little more comfortable with everyone… and more comfortable with himself.

Sheed shooting like he was shooting yesterday makes things damn near impossible for other teams because the entire team has to be defensed a bit differently.  Ray says it in the link… you have to make an impossible choice on the pick and roll when Sheed’s on.

Coming up, Page 2… where Rondo was threatened to get a triple double

“They told me,” Rondo said. “At halftime, T-Lue (assistant coach
Tyronn Lue) threatened me, so I had to go out there and get it done.”

The last number to fall into line in his 22-point, 10-rebound, 13-assist afternoon was a piece of glass.

“I had like 12 guys over on the bench telling me to get a rebound,”

“It’s nice to have it, but the biggest thing is we got the win,” he
said. “I’d hate to get a triple-double or have a great game and we
lose. It means nothing.

Herald:  Rondo hits a triple

I thought Paul Pierce had stolen Rondo’s triple double away from him when they both went up for a board and Pierce ripped it from Rondo’s hands… but I love how everyone on the bench was letting him know what was up.

It just goes to show you:  Never believe a guy who says “I didn’t know I was working on a triple double” or “I really wasn’t paying attention to the stats.”  Those guys are practically reading from a script.  They’re all very much aware of what they’re working on simply because someone somewhere on that team will tell them.
