Tanguay: Celts Offered Giddens for Robinson

Via CSNNE.com:

The
Celtics offered J.R. Giddens and undisclosed future considerations to
the Knicks for Nate Robinson three weeks ago, but talks came to a halt
when Robinson had a breakout game against Atlanta.

Gary
Tanguay of Comcast SportsNet and 98.5 The Sports Hub, quoting a source
close to the situation, reports that the Celts made the offer for the
5-foot-9 guard towards or at the end of a stretch in which Robinson sat
out 14 straight games in December. But then he played Jan. 1 against
the Hawks
and scored 41 points, which changed the landscape of the potential deal.

You mean the Knicks weren't bowled over by the J.R. Giddens offer?

It's likely Donnie Walsh will keep Robinson until the trading deadline. I'm sure the Giddens offer will still be on the table if he doesn't get any better offers.
