Well, at least not before the deadline. There is only one player worth trading (because of talent, redundancy in players and affordable talent), and that is Denard Span. Apparently the asking price is very high, as it is with Josh Willingham and Justin Morneau. The Twins may get a little interest in Alexi Casilla and Jamey Carroll, but it would be very little interest. The Twins have a lot of money tied up in longer term deals, rather than short term, pending free agents who would gladly be dumped for little. To play for next year, standing pat may be the best idea.
They traded Liriano, which surprised me a bit, but it seems as though the market for Minnesota players is closing very quickly, if it hasn’t already closed. Less than 24 hours to the deadline, though, so at least I don’t have to be impatient, waiting for something, anything to happen anymore.
