I don’t know if you have noticed, but there were a few changes made to the site overnight. Let’s run through them. On top, you will see a new navbar for the Yardbarker Network. Why would we do this? Because the Rhino and Compass is joining the Yardbarker Network, duh. YBN is a partner with Fox Sports and MSN, which is good for us and our possible readership. Some of my favorite blogs, Larry Brown Sports, Rumors and Rants and the Legend of Cecilio Guante to name three, are members of YBN, and the opportunity to work more closely with the talent at those sites is also extremely exciting.
All of this means a few tweaks, some that will benefit us, and some that will benefit you, the reader. The navbar is one that benefits you. There are links to Yardbarker, and some categories you may be interested in, with pages dedicated to sport specific content.
Below our header, three is some additional ad space, which will be farmed out by Yardbarker, as will a panel on the side bar. This would be the benefit for us (on top of the fresh eyes and partnerships that I mentioned earlier), as now we don’t have to count on you people solely clicking on our Google ads on the side panel there (though those will still be there, for fun).
The last thing is the Yardbarker widget in the sidebar. These will contain fresh Yardbarker Network content. Be sure to check that out, as well as the Links of the Day to see what stories are all out there on any given day. Find some new blogs and enjoy those as well.
Oh, and one other thing. We have added the Yardbarker privacy policy to the top bar. This is mostly there because of the method by which Yardbarer places ads, and because of the ease of ability to access the Network.
So enjoy the changes. It’s still going to be me and Steve posting, with Eric and I doing the radio thing. Hopefully our addition to the Yardbarker network will allow us to keep doing both just a little bit longer.
