Earlier today… yesterday now, I guess, Rosenborg took down Sandnes Ulf 2-0. I didn’t put it in the scoreboard, because I wanted to pause for just one moment to reflect on the fact that I, Ryan Henning, am cheering for a team that is in first place. The Twins are terrible, the Colts will rebound, but aren’t very good, the Wild aren’t going to play ever again, Blackburn got relegated, Purdue is bad at football, but gosh darn it, for this brief, moment in the sun, with 4 games left in the season, this little team from Trondheim is on top of their league. And it feels great.
Molde has a game in hand behind them, so it’s not like things are entirely in their hands… but wait, it is! RBK play at Molde next week! It IS in Rosenborg’s hands! Entirely! Rosenborg has lost only 2 matches in league play this season, so if they are aggressive… who knows what could happen?!
Not only that, but the Trolls have 3 points in the Europa Cup group stage. they will play at home against Metalist Kharkiv next week as well (HUGE week, eh?) to try to stay relevant in their continental foray.
I guess what I am trying to say is, cheer for Rosenborg with me. They win, they’re fun, they have an American in Mikkel Diskerud, and darn it, we all need winners.
