NFL Computerized Power Ranks: Week 9

We are now officially more than half way through the season, we still have 1 undefeated team, the Falcons, and the #1 Ranked team is…the Bears?!  Yep, the Bears.  At 7-1, they are only 1 game behind Atlanta and they score some points for strength of schedule in the tough NFC North compared to the relatively weak NFC South.  The Bears defense is a better offense than their offense so far.  In other top-5 news, the Giants loss to the Steelers bumped them down to #7, moving up the Texans.  The Packers leapfrogged the idle 49ers and Patriots, moving them up to #4.

On the low end, the Panthers got a win over Washington, moving down the Jaguars, Eagles, and Bengals.  The Bills got a strength of schedule bump for playing Houston.

The biggest gainers this week are the Saints, who seem to be getting back on track, but playing the Eagles has made just about everyone look good this year.  The biggest losers were the Vikings, who are fulfilling Ryan’s prophecy slowly but surely.
