Well, we are off to another hot start on the injury front when it comes to training camp in Oxnard, CA. During yesterday’s drills DeMarcus Lawrence injured his foot, and at the time it was suspected it was a ankle injury or sprain. X-rays have no confirmed otherwise and perhaps worse.
Lawrence will be shelved for 8-12 weeks minimum with a fractured foot. These foot injuries can linger the rest of the season or become aggravated, so this is not good news. Lawrence will miss the rest of training camp and the pre-season, losing valuable practice and live action preparation.
This injury could force Tyrone Crawford back into the mix at defensive end, but we’ll see what the Cowboys do the rest of camp for some clues.
