The Cowboys opened up the season by hosting the 49ers and they converted on all the Cowboys miscues, which is becoming an all to familiar identity the Cowboys have created for themselves. This staff has been “Frankensteined” together dating back to when Wade Phillips was named head coach after Garrett was installed as his offensive coordinator and it’s been evident each year.
To me this team has been experimenting with different defenses, different offensive coordinators, and we are rewarded with the same lame performances.
The hot seat is officially on for Jason Garrett and Tony Romo. You have one that rolls out a disappointing, unprepared team and a QB that is currently in the same position of his career that Drew Bledsoe was when Romo replaced him. Romo is that guy now.
It’s not the end of the world, but it is further confirmation on what we already know – we aren’t going to be that good.
Surprisingly, the defense “looked” better than last year, but they had their mind numbing plays too. The offense was trumped up to being the strength of this team and they looked like shit out there. Romo is making aging QB mistakes, and looking average in this loss.
Turnovers, and penalties put the Cowboys behind the eight-ball in the 1st quarter, and the game was lost.
The Cowboys will either let this loss snowball into a 5-11 season or it will motivate them to playing better next week. Which do you think is more likely to happen?
The Cowboys head to Tennessee next week, and that team will be ready. Let’s look at our next next games:
@Titans; @Rams; Saints; Texans; @Seahawks
The way the Cowboys played today, we could start the season 0-6. Let’s sit back and see what the excuses are in these upcoming press conferences…
