You’ve heard it before; Team records do not matter in rivalry games. At one point of the game the Cowboys were down 21-10 and we looked like we were on the ropes.
Jason Garrett has preached about having the team fight and take one play at a time and that mantra rang true tonight. This game will be one that is remembered in this storied rivalry, it had it all. Too much drama for one night for me.
All my nails are chewed-up and I may need them again in just four days. I’ll admit there were times in the 1st half where I thought this was going to be a classic “flat game” and a step back to those dreaded 8-8 seasons.
I’m impressed how the coaches made the exact halftime adjustments needed in order to pull out this victory tonight.
Here is my take on the game:
— Rolando McClain is making a serious claim at getting a new contract for Dallas, and if not Dallas someone will want McClain. McClain made some nice plays tonight, and led the team with 11 tackles / 10 solo.
— Anthony Hitchens prooved he could play weakside linebacker and be effective, Hitchens had another solid game. His future is very bright.
— The offensive line continues to shape the outcome of games. In the 4th quarter this line had emptied the tanks on the defensive line of the Giants and we saw it on Romo’s game winning drive. All that time was a beautiful sight. Great game guys!
— DeMarcus Lawrence is coming around. This is probably the most active I’ve seen Lawrence and that is good. I think he’s going to continue to improve during this final stretch.
— Cole Beasley had two clutch catches: the TD and the big catch on the final game winning drive. Salute to you sir! Good game.
— Brandon Carr is still playing some bad ball and we do miss Tyler Patmon in the secondary. Hurry back Patmon.
— Odell Beckham is a legit wide receiver, I am very impressed. He’ll give us issues for years to come.
— Dez Bryant threw up the X twice tonight and he came through with some clutch catches.
— Hats off to Rod Marinelli on figuring out the Giants gameplan in the 2nd half.
— Lack of pass rush is hurting us and look for the Cowboys to get an additional pass rushing specialist via free agency and/or the draft.
— DeMarco Murray racks up another 100+ yard game. He had 24 carries for 121 tonight.
— 8-0 on the road this year. Legit road team.

The Cowboys will have 4 days to prepare for the Eagles on Thanksgiving. I like the momentum that we are now taking into that game. We are gritty, we claw and fight through any game we have played this year and I look for another close battle against the Eagles.
We did a nice job slowing down the Eagles with the worst defense, so it’ll be different this year. Let’s go Dallas.
