Staying Put: Garrett and Marinelli Sign New Contracts

Jason Garrett

Stephen Jones said the Cowboys had a three day window to work on new deals for Jason Garrett and the assistants. The first dominos have fallen.

Jason Garrett has signed a new 5-yr deal for $30 million.

In addition to Garrett getting a new contract, Marinelli is staying in Dallas. It was speculated that Marinelli had his sights on reuniting with Love Smith, that is not the case now.

Rod Marinelli has signed a new 3-yr deal to remain the Cowboys Defensive Coordinator.

Signing Marinelli is a huge boon for the Cowboys defensively, it’ll give us more continuity and with a foundation in place, he can get this defense to the next level with a few upgrades on the way. This is exciting news for CowboysNation!

We should be hearing about Scott Linehan soon and the other assistants.

It’ll be interesting to see if Bill Callahan wants to stay in Dallas.

More news as it becomes available.
