Eagles Weekly Recap: Week 14, Pederson’s job, Lane Johnson return, and more

Philadelphia Eagles v Detroit Lions

Welcome to this week’s edition of the Eagles Weekly Recap. After a third straight loss, head coach Doug Pederson and the Eagles are looking to turn things around for the final weeks of the season. Let’s get into it:

  • This afternoon, the Eagles will host the Washington Redskins in an NFC East showdown. Washington is trying to inch their way into the playoffs, and the Eagles look to be a roadblock as they try to bounce back from a three-game skid.

  • During Pederson’s weekly press conference, the rookie head coach spoke on his job security, assuring that he has spoken with owner Jeffrey Lurie and EVP of football operations Howie Roseman, and is certain he will return for the 2017 NFL season.

  • Offensive tackle Lane Johnson is two weeks from being eligible to play. Earlier this week, Pederson stated that barring any setbacks from lack of practice, Johnson will likely start once he returns.

  • On the injury front, running back Ryan Mathews (ankle), and wide receivers Jordan Matthews (knee) and Dorial Green-Beckham (oblique) are all listed as questionable for today’s game. Right tackle Halapoulivaati Vaitai (knee) is out again this week.

That’s it for this week. Stay tuned with Total Sports Live for the latest involving the Philadelphia Eagles.
