Eagles Weekly Recap: Week 15, Brandon Brooks update, injury round-up, and more

Washington Redskins v Philadelphia Eagles

Welcome to this week’s edition of the Eagles Weekly Recap, the injury-riddled Eagles are looking to bring a positive end to the season as the closing weeks approach. Let’s get into it:

  • This afternoon, the Philadelphia Eagles are on the road as they are set to take on the Baltimore Ravens. The Eagles are coming into today’s game with a host of injuries while the Ravens are looking to make a push for the playoffs. This game will be a true test for a rather depleted Eagles team.

  • After missing two of the last three games due to an illness, offensive guard Brandon Brooks revealed that he has been diagnosed with anxiety, the illness that sidelined him in recent weeks. Brooks has since received an outpouring amount of support from teammates and fans, and is so far good to go for this afternoon.

  • On the injury front, running back Darren Sproles (concussion) will miss today’s game. Defensive tackle Allen Barbre (hamstring) is listed as questionable. Long-snapper Jon Dorenbos (wrist), offensive tackle Matt Tobin (knee), and running back Wendell Smallwood (knee) have all been placed on season-ending injured reserved.

  • Looking to replace Dorenbos, the Eagles signed Rick Lovato to handle long-snapping duties.

  • In regards to the nasty hit both Sproles and tight end Brent Celek took last week, Washington’s Deshazor Everett has been fined for a total of $48,000 for both offenses.
