The Blues-Blackhawks Alumni Game at the Winter Classic should be an event that may be more exciting than the Winter Classic itself. The game, which is scheduled for December 31st at 1:30pm at Busch Stadium, will now be shown live on Fox Sports Midwest.
This comes as welcome news to Blues fans who were unable to score tickets to the Winter Classic and may have feared they wouldn’t be able to watch Wayne Gretzky, Brett Hull, Bernie Federko, Chris Pronger, Al MacInnis and many others compete.
The broadcast should be a lot of fun as play-by-play announcer John Kelly calls the action alongside NHL Network analyst Mike Rupp. Meanwhile, everyone’s favorite analyst Darren Pang will wear a microphone rinkside and will also spend some time in the net for the Blackhawks.
Fox Sports Midwest General Manager and Senior Vice President Jack Donovan stated, “FOX Sports Midwest is the home of the Blues, and we’re excited to give fans at home the chance to watch some of the greatest stars in Blues and NHL history.”
