Dice-K on the Mend

Yesterday Dice-K began a throwing program on flat ground for the first time since he was injured. From Red Sox.com:

Everything went well,” Francona said. “He’s officially onto his throwing. Flat ground; it’ll be flat ground for a while. This should come along pretty quickly.”

Tito does not know a date for Matsusaka’s return and thinks June 12, the day he comes off of the DL, is unlikely. A trip to Pawtucket for a rehab start might be needed but look for Dice-K to be back in the rotation by the end of the month.
