Oki Is Not So Doki

I usually agree with Francona’s moves in a ballgame but I must say I was perplexed when he went to the struggling Hideki Okajima in the 8th. Oki admitted earlier in the season that he does not do well with runners on base but Tito brought him in with Carlos Lee on first. After a wild pitch put the runner in scoring position, Oki served up a hit to former Sox second baseman Mark Loretta to put the Astros up 3-2. The Sox could not score a run in the 9th and leave Houston losing 2 out of 3. They now take on the Rays in a series for top spot in the A.L. East. Okajima has not been the pitcher he was last year and the bullpen is filled with question marks. It is time for Theo to see what is out there before the deadline.
