Justin Masterson looked like an inexperienced pitcher facing a first place team last night. He gave the Rays an early lead when Upton homered off him in the first and left the game after 6 innings. The Sox offense struggled against Shields but did manage 2 runs. In the 9th the Sox were down by 3. The started a comeback and scored two runs. Moss, the tying run, was at third when Lugo came to bat. Lugo got decent wood on the ball but it caught at short to end the game and put the Sox a game and 1/2 behind the Rays.
