Salt Lake Bees
Box Score

The Good: Trevor Reckling won his first game on the 2010 season for the Bees, albeit not one of his better starts (5.1 IP, 4 ER, 5 H, 4 BB and 3 K). Newcomers Corey Aldridge and Michael Ryan contributed to the majority of the offense on Tuesday night. Aldridge hit a sixth inning 3-run home run (1-4) and Michael Ryan clubbed two hits (2-4) with a triple and RBI. Freddy Sandoval walked twice and scored two runs. Rich Thompson pitched 1 2/3 innings of scoreless ball to earn a hold.

The Bad: None of the top prospects with the Bees had standout game, though Bourjos and Trumbo were given the night off. Conger went 1-4 and has at least one hit in 4 out of the five games he’s played. Robb Quinlan got his first base knock (.091) while with the Bees so his return to the Angels must be imminent.

The Noteworthy: Rafael Rodriguez who endured a horrible spring has started the season with two saves and has yet to give up a run in three innings of work.

Arkansas Travelers
Box Score

The Good: The WIN! The Arkansas Travelers won the game 8-1 on six nice innings of work by opening day starter Tim Kiely. The LONG BALL!! The Travelers hit four home runs on the night (Jeremy Moore, Clay Fuller and two by catcher Brian Walker). Clay Fuller’s home run was a grand slam.

The Bad: Andrew Romine went 0-5 on the night which saw his batting average drop to .318. Both Ryan Mount and Abel Nieves made outs while on the bases.

The Noteworthy: Brian Walker’s second home run on the night came off of the Rangers 2009 #1 draft pick Tanner Scheppers.

Rancho Cucamonga Quakes
Box Score

The Good: The Quakes Alexi Amarista and Gabe Jacobo were the stars offensively on Tuesday night. Amarista moved to the leadoff spot with Willits heading to New York to join the Angels, went 3-5 with a double and a walk. The Quakes first baseman went 3-6 with a home run and three RBI’s. Jeremy Haynes pitched the final 2 2/3 innings of scoreless relief to earn the win in Rancho Cucamonga’s 4-3 victory over Modesto.

The Bad: Roberto Lopez was behind the plate again for the Quakes and for Lopez it was a night to forget after giving up seven stolen bases from the Modesto Nuts. Dillon Baird had a bad night at the plate going 0-5. Jose Perez walked four batters in an inning of work and gave up two runs, which almost cost the Quakes the game.

The Noteworthy: Tyler Chatwood takes the mound for his second start on the season tonight against the Modesto Nuts.

Cedar Rapids Kernels
Box Score

The Good: Michael Trout went 2-3 with a walk and run scored on the night. He also stole his first base on the season. Expect many more of those with his speed. Garret Richards turned in another final outing by pitching six innings of one run ball, while fanning five Quad Cities batters.

The Bad: The 4, 5 and 6 batters went a combined 0-11 and in fact, nobody had a hit or walk outside of the first three batters in the lineup. Grichuk (.118) is still struggling at the plate after another 0-4 on Tuesday night.

The Noteworthy: Fabio Mesa Martinez toes the rubber for his second start on the 2010 season. Fabio fanned 11 batters in five scoreless innings of work with his first start of the season last week.

*Prospect of the Day: Brian Walker, C Arkansas Travelers
