The Good: Outfielders Rian Kiniry (.275) and Angel Castillo (.213) both had two hits a piece in Wednesday loss to Lake Elsinore. The toolsy outfielder (Castillo) stole his third base of the season. Jeremy Haynes struck out three in three innings of work. He gave up one run in relief. Jose Perez pitched a scoreless inning.
The Bad: Matt Shoemaker was lit up on Wednesday, going four innings, giving up six runs on 11 hits.
The Noteworthy: Japanese catcher Ikko Sumi got his first start behind the dish for the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes. Sumi went 1-4 behind the plate. He nailed Dan Robinson trying to steal, so he’s off to a good start (1-1) trying to catch would be basestealers.

The Good: Mike Trout has seven multi-hit games out of his last 10. Trout went 2-4 on the day, upping his batting average to .375 and with another walk, his OBP to .455. Trout also stole his seventh base on the season. Outfielder Matt Long went 1-3 with two walks and two stolen bases. Luis Jimenez just went 1-4, but he knocked in two runs. Jimenez has eight RBI’s in three games.
The Bad: Orangel Arenas gave up three runs in 5 2/3 innings of work, losing his third game of the season.
The Noteworthy: Out of Mike Trout’s 21 hits this season, 18 of them are singles. Trout has two triples, one double and no home runs. His slugging pct. is just 9 points above his on-base pct.
