SATURDAY, 12/21/2013, ORACLE ARENA, OAKLAND, CA — They don’t call Oracle Arena “#WarriorsGround” for nothing. If the latest and greatest news out of the Golden State Warriors franchise doesn’t come out from their top-notch PR team, it’s bound to be tweet by one of the many great beatwriters following the team.

Yet, as media sat awaiting the Los Angeles Lakers game, a tweet from our very own Anthony Mitchell, doing the pre-game live-tweet from our @LetsGoWarriors account surprised us all:

The news was confirmed with a Google search and the topic was met with surprise by other members of the media in the Warriors’ media room.

As it turns out, the source tweet for the news came from Stephanie Ready, courtside reporter for the Charlotte Bocats/Hornets:

Once confirmed, it was re-confirmed as I walked to press row, passing by none other than Seth Curry himself:

After the game, Seth’s brother Stephen Curry said from the Warriors locker room, “It’ll be weird to see him on the scouting report come January 9th.”

“Great for him to establish himself and hopefully stick on this level,” Steph added.

However, Steph got the date wrong. The Grizzlies next visit the Warriors on March 28, 2014, at #Roaracle.

“Oh he’s definitely excited, I mean, been waiting patiently and playing well in the D-League,” Steph said today after practice, “Hopefully (Seth will) be able to get some minutes and show what he’s about.”

“I think it’s a good fit for him and looking forward to see him and seeing what he does. They’ve got some veterans that hopefully can help him out, show him the way,” Steph said, “Hope to get the best of him (when the Warriors play the Grizzlies).”

Most NBA salary databases aren’t 100% accurate and the two most reliable ones, HoopsHype and ShamSports, don’t have the latest and greatest, but ESPN’s Trade Machine currently lists Seth with a one-year contract valued at $490,180, which is the NBA’s league minimum.
