NEW ORLEANS ARENA, NEW ORLEANS, LA — Andrew Bogut recorded 5 blocks, 3 of them late in the game, while Stephen Curry was in leadership form and finished with this number of turnovers:

…as the Golden State Warriors recovered from another double-digit deficit and stopped the New Orleans Pelicans short of a comeback.

Adam Lauridsen of the San Jose Mercury:

After watching the Warriors lose winnable games due to poor interior defense and too many second-chance points, Bogut’s presence was exactly what the Warriors needed to stabilize themselves. Jackson stuck with his big man, even after the Pelicans went small with Davis at center and Evans running with the starers. The Warriors finally dictated the match-ups rather than simply responding to opponents’ adjustments. Hopefully this is just the start of Jackson’s full squad finales.

Jimmy Durkin of the Bay Area News Group:

Stephen Curry scored 28 points despite a 2-of-9 night from beyond the arc. David Lee had 22 points, eight rebounds and even added two blocks. Andrew Bogut was very active with 10 points — on 5-of-5 shooting — 15 rebounds and a season-high five blocks.
.
The first quarter belonged to New Orleans’ Anthony Davis, the second-year big man who was the No. 1 overall pick in 2012. He made his first five shots and had 15 points and five rebounds in the opening quarter.
.
“We gave Davis quite a bit in the first quarter,” Lee said.

Rusty Simmons of the San Francisco Chronicle:

“We got in at 3 a.m. and didn’t get to sleep until 4, so it was test of a game for us,” Bogut said. “We could have easily let it slip and had all of the excuses in the world, but it was very good to get the win.”
.
The Warriors (26-16), who had dropped two straight for the first time since Dec. 13 and 15, moved two games behind the Clippers, leaders in the Pacific Division. They host nine of 11 games before the All-Star break.

Monte Poole of CSN Bay Area:

Curry’s control and judgment were magnificent, as he consistently beat defenders off the dribble to get all the way to the rim. In 37 minutes, the man leading the league in turnovers committed none.
.
Also deserving of mention is Bogut’s rebounding and late-game defense. He battled New Orleans star Anthony David (31 points, 17 rebounds) near standoff on the glass. Of Bogut’s five blocks, three came in the final three minutes to rebuff any semblance of a Pelicans comeback.
.
TURNING POINT
With the score tied 64-64 and 4:54 left in the third quarter, the Warriors went on 14-2, taking a 78-66 lead with 1:30 left in the quarter. Curry scored 7 points during the rally.
