Mike Trout began his game with a first inning solo home run. But the Angels could not capitalize on offensive opportunities, leaving six runners stranded in scoring position and ten overall. Starting pitcher Hector Santiago struggled in the third inning, allowing three of his four earned runs that included one run scoring on a bases-loaded balk.
