Golden State Warriors Summer League play is Back! Here are some of the sights and sounds of the Golden State Warriors first game against the Charlotte Hornets.
- Warriors defeated Charlotte 70-58 after building a big first half lead
- Nemanja Nedovic was the featured player offensively, going 4-6 on field goals and 7-11 from the free throw line for 17 points
- Ognjen Kuzmic dominated down low, leading the Warriors with 8 rebounds in just under 20 minutes
- Orlando Johnson played physical defense, trying to prove he’s more than a scorer, but also picked up five fouls. He also scored 12 points.
- James McAdoo had a monster poster jam over Noah Vonleh early in the game and played pretty well otherwise, too
- The Warriors Summer League Championship Banner was presented by Franco Finn pregame, and flown around on a blimp for fans to see
- Draymond Green, Harrison Barnes, and Festus Ezeli all played cheerleader for the Warriors Summer League squad, rising to their feet every time a Warrior took the ball hard to the hole.
- Andre Iguodala also stopped by early in the game (in the white hat)
- Luke Walton enjoys salmon-colored polo shirts, or just loves to stand out among Warrior blue and gold
- Steve Kerr jokingly said he didn’t expect there to be so much pressure in a Summer League game due to the Warriors winning streak and position as reigning champions
- Nedovic spoke after the game about how good it’s been to be healthy and be able to work on his game. He definitely showed improvement on his jump shot in the first game.
- The Warriors are still undefeated at Summer League since 2010
