Stephen Curry Team USA Mission For Gold: “I Don’t Take It For Granted” (Photo Via @BeyondTheBuzzer Instagram)
The USA Basketball Men’s National Team (#USABMNT) has made its final roster selections, and as we know, both Golden State Warrior players have made the cut. Now that the team has arrived in the Canary Islands, they have 5 days before they play their first official game.
In their tune-up game against Puerto Rico, Stephen Curry drained his share of shots. While he was thought of as a lock to make the team, his performance definitely did not jeopardize his roster spot. Before the game Stephen Curry talked to us about what it is going to take to bring home gold this summer.
“It’s not going to be easy to get the job done, but I don’t take it for granted at all.” Curry told us before the 112-86 win Friday night, “That’s our mission to get a gold medal, and make this commitment.”
Curry finished the game with 20 points on 6 of 7 shooting including 4 assists. Team USA will be back in action Tuesday when they play against Slovenia. This will be their final tune-up game before they head to Spain to start the tournament on Saturday August 30th when they face Finland in their first official FIBA World Cup game.
