Warriors defeated the Denver Nuggets 119-112 at Oracle Arena on 10/24/2014, in their final preseason game.

What to Watch For:

The wait is now over. After an exciting NBA off-season, it is finally time to kick off the Warriors 2014-2015 campaign. This first game marks the official coaching debut of head coach Steve Kerr. Look for him to experiment with different sets, as the team has a few guys coming off or nursing injuries.

David Lee has been ruled out of this game, so Green will start in his place. Lee spoke after practice yesterday about his frustration with the situation.

“Really frustrated right now. [At the] end of the Denver game I pulled a hamstring pretty good trying to go in and get some extra cardio, and came in kind of cold,” Lee said, “That’s why the depth on this team is so important and I’m sure we’ll have a great opening game whether I play or not.”

Coach Kerr said that backup point guard Shaun Livingston will also not be available to play, but did scrimmage at yesterdays practice and could be ready soon. Backup swingman Brandon Rush is also still dealing with back spasms that he suffered during the preseason, and will not play tonight. Look for Leandro Barbosa to see some substantial minutes filling in both of those rolls, as well as the last man to make a roster spot, Justin Holiday.

After practice Barbosa told LetsGoWarriors about some of the “brain cramps” they’ve had on the offensive end, and how they are trying to limit that.

“It’s just the adjustment. It’s everything new for the whole team. I think last year they did totally different things than we are doing now, so it’s just timing,” Barbosa told us, “As the time comes we will be sharpening all the details that we need to get better.

“Everything is going to be fine.”

Curry spoke about the game coming up and how this years Kings squad will be different from last years.

“You have, obviously, DeMarcus (Cousins) playing well, Rudy (Gay) getting more comfortable in Sacramento, then some of the young guys they’ve drafted,” Curry said after practice, “They have some shooting, they have some depth, they got a lot of big bodies.

“We got to be ready for what they throw at us tomorrow, especially on their home court. There’s obviously a lot of adrenaline, and we got to be ready”
