Last Time Out:
On Wednesday 12/10/2014, Golden State extended their win streak to 14 straight wins by defeating the Houston Rockets, 105-93.
On Wednesday 12/10/2014, Dallas beat the New Orleans Pelicans at home, 112-107, as Ellis scored 13 of his 26 points in the final 4:27, a night after scoring just 2 points, his lowest total since 2006.
On 4/1/2014, the Warriors defeated the Mavericks in Dallas, 122-120, in overtime as Curry hit the game-winner with 0.1 remaining.
Curry yelled, “We out!” to the crowd and that moment has become LetsGoWarriors’ most-Liked post on Instagram, with over 3,650 likes as of this writing:
Warriors owner Joe Lacob recently on Ellis: “…I had become close with Monta — great player and he had great heart. He had a lot of qualities that we really admired.”
Game Notes:
Diamond Leung of the Bay Area News Group:
“This is actually obvious fear,” Kerr said Friday. “You play Dallas on the road, there’s no motivational tactics necessary. The appropriate fear comes when you’re playing a team you’re supposed to beat. We’re coming to Dallas, and they’re one of the best teams in the league. They’re supposed to beat us, but our guys feel like they can win anywhere.”
.
As well as the Warriors are playing this season, Kerr called the Mavericks the best offensive team in the NBA. Dallas leads the league averaging 110.5 points per game, with the Warriors third in that category. The Mavericks and the Warriors shoot 48.2 percent from the field, with Dallas ahead of Golden State by one hundredth of a percentage point.
.
The Mavericks’ leading scorers are former Warriors guard Monta Ellis (20.6 points per game), Dirk Nowitzki (18.8) and Chandler Parsons (16.3), who is questionable for the game with lower back soreness.
.
“They’re a nightmare to guard,” Kerr said. “They’ve got shooters and ballhandlers and penetrators all over the floor.”
Monte Poole of CSN Bay Area:
Bogut had his right knee drained and will miss both weekend games, the team announced.
.
The Warriors will have plenty of size to deal with this weekend; 7-foot-1 center Tyson Chandler patrols the paint for the Mavericks and the Pelicans boast 6-foot-10 big man Anthony Davis.
