After getting out to the best start in franchise history, and retaining the NBA’s best record for a large majority of the season, it would seem that the Golden State Warriors would be happy exactly where they are.

As the trade deadline passed, no trigger was pulled on any deal for the Warriors, as many thought it may be risky to mess with this team’s one-of-a-kind chemistry.

The Warriors are looking toward a deep playoff run, there are still a few question that may need to be answered by the time April rolls around.

One of those answers could possibly come from free agent center JaVale McGee.

According to Monte Poole from CSN Bay Area, sources say that the situation between McGee and the Warriors remains “fluid.”

Would the Warriors go after JaVale McGee? The answer is, by all appearances, they’re pondering exactly that. Multiple reports say the Warriors are interested. A Warriors’ source on Tuesday declined to address the matter, which usually means the situation remains fluid. McGee, 27, is a free agent after being waived Sunday by the 76ers, who two weeks ago acquired him from the Nuggets. The eighth-year veteran has a history of making curious decisions on the court, leaving many to question his judgment and maturity.

Warriors GM Bob Myers didn’t give much away when asked about the possibility of a McGee signing when asked Tuesday, before McGee had cleared waivers, but it seems the topic is open for discussion within the organization.

We haven’t really delved into it… If we’re serious we’ll gather intel the best way we know how.

McGee will likely not be on the market for long so a deal could come at any moment.

McGee holds career averages of 8.4 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks per game since he came into the league in 2008.
