Here’s to You, 2014-15 Golden State Warriors

I may be too obsessed with the Golden State Warriors, sure but I think this season proved that my obsession is valid.

Do you remember a few of years ago when everyone ragged on the Warriors? Everyone asked why we cheered for this team that was going nowhere.

Everyone doubted the potential that this team had. Everyone doubted the power of the #SplashBrothers. Everyone doubted the power of #DubNation.

Well, now everyone has joined our team. Everyone is cheering for the team that was going nowhere. Everyone recognizes the potential that this team has. Everyone believes.

“I can’t wait for my team to prove so many haters wrong. Whoever thought we would be finishing #1 in the NBA,” said ardent Warriors supporter @mimibuike3 on her Instagram account. “This is payback for all the years #RealFans had to suffer.”

The Dubs ended their season with a franchise record of 67 wins, winning the Pacific Division title by a whopping eleven games, but that wasn’t the only record they broke this season.

Did I mention that they also had franchise records of 19 straight home wins, 16 overall victories in a row and 10 consecutive wins on the road?

Oh yeah, and Stephen Curry broke his old record for most three-pointers scored in a season of 272 and set a new record of 284. He also took home the trophy from the Three-Point Contest during All-Star Weekend.

And Klay Thompson joined him at the All-Star Game as a starter.

With the regular season ending, the Warriors don’t seem to be slowing down for the playoffs. I watched in awe during “We Believe”, “We Are Warriors”, and “Loud. Proud. Warriors.”

I can’t wait to see what #StrengthInNumbers has in store for this amazing team.
