This is a continuation of the Golden State Warriors versus the Los Angeles Lakers first half recap, from Valley View Casino Arena in San Diego, CA.

The Lakers took a 62-53 lead into the 2nd half.

3rd Quarter

Marreese Speights in place of Draymond Green, while the Lakers went with Jordan Clarkson and four bench players: Metta World Peace, Robert Upshaw, Michael Upshaw, and Larry Nance, Jr.

The game was called early with 2:16 remaining, due to condensation on the floor caused by a minor league hockey team calling Valley View Casino Arena their home regularly, but here were some Warrior highlights:

  • Festus Ezeli had a nice post-up hook shot.
  • Ian Clark had a nice drive and used the glass softly for two points.
  • Speights shot and missed a three-pointer.

Stephen Curry started the second half and had a step-back three in which he seemed to retreat five feet. That brought the Warriors back to 72-62.

Curry then got a floater off the glass and it was 76-64, Lakers, but Nance had an incredible one-handed jam over Ezeli.

James McAdoo came in for Curry at the 6:08 mark.

Brandon Rush got to the rim twice, nicely, although he didn’t convert either, but Leandro Barbosa became the umpteenth player to slip on the wet floor with 2:36 to play, Warriors interim head coach Luke Walton conferred at halfcourt with Lakers head coach Byron Scott, and both agreed to call the game at that point.

Officially, Los Angeles won the game, 85-70.

Curry led all scorers with 19 points in 22 minutes played, while Clarkson led the Lakers with 17. Ezeli had a solid 10 points, 9 rebounds in 19 minutes of play.
