WARRIORS PRACTICE FACILITY, OAKLAND, CA — Before addressing media this morning at the Golden State Warriors‘ shootaround before facing the Memphis Grizzlies at Oracle Arena tonight, point guard Stephen Curry was up to his usual routine of various shots.
But we saw something we hadn’t seen before today: a wrap-around step-back three, in which his wraps the ball around his waist before stepping back 22 feet away from the rim, from the left-corner three-point area.
You can barely hear it, but Curry says, “This one’s for you, Ray,” as that particular shot swishes through.
