ORACLE ARENA, OAKLAND, CA — The Brooklyn Nets (0-8), on the second night of a back-to-back, paid a visit to Oakland to face the Golden State Warriors (10-0).
The Warriors were without Klay Thompson, who took the night off to rest a stiff back.
1st Quarter – Thaddeus Who?
Even on the second night of a back-to-back, the Nets got off to a scorching start, missing only one of their first 6 shots. Jarrett Jack buoyed the team at the start, with a three and step through the lane past Stephen Curry for a scoop.
After a Brandon Rush three-pointer assisted by Curry, Thaddeus Young went to work for Brooklyn, scoring 8 of the Nets’ points in a 12-0 run.
Even as Curry got a triple to drop over Jack and Andrew Bogut came off the bench for a tip-in as well as an Andre Iguodala trey, Jack responded with a pull-up and Young hit another jumper to keep Golden State at bay, 36-21, by the end of the first quarter.
Young had accumulated 14 points.
2nd Quarter – Curry Checks In, Nets’ Lead Evaporates

Then Shaun Livingston got two buckets to drop in a row and Iguodala followed that up with a three-pointer, but it wasn’t until Curry re-entered the game with 6:21 remainng that the Dubs finally made their run.

An alley-oop by Festus Ezeli on a lob by Green capped a 15-4 burst for the Warriors, to close the deficit to just one point, 48-47.

Jack once again came to the Nets’ rescue, drawing two free throws versus Curry, then getting his patented pull-up jumper to fall, while Curry drew his own three-point shooting foul.

But Young got one more jumper in before the half and Brook Lopez did a good job of chasing Curry at halfcourt to bother his buzzer-beating attempt from halfcourt, which was off the mark by a couple of yards.
The Nets took a 54-52 lead into halftime.
