ORACLE ARENA, OAKLAND, CA — This is a continuation of the halftime recap of the Los Angeles Lakers at the Golden State Warriors.
The Warriors took a 54-38 lead into the second half.
3rd Quarter – Chef Curry
In the third period, the onslaught continued as Andrew Bogut got two consecutive alley-oops, the first assisted by Draymond Green on an attack…

Curry added a turnaround jumper from the right baseline after driving in on the left baseline, then Kobe Bryant fired a dribble-and-pop jumper from the left and the ball got stuck on the rim.
Bogut won the tip, then in typical Warriors fashion, another lob from Curry to Bogut went awry, the Lakers deflected the ball, but Green saved the ball on the baseline and threw it Steph, suddenly open on the right side.
The shot splashed through, good for three points.
Klay Thompson, who had just 3 points at the half, rebounded a miss by Jordan Clarkson and marched 94 feet for a finger roll with the harm. However, Thompson missed the “and-one” free throw.
Bryant tried once again to do a dribble-pull-up from the left side, but he missed way off and Curry grabbed the board, already in transition the other way, and went up and under with a scoop to finish the play.
That gave Golden State a 65-44 lead as Lakers head coach Byron Scott called timeout.
The hits continued:
- Green tipped in a missed Curry three,
- Iguodala stole a pass from Bryant and finished with a dunk on the other end,
- Green cut, got the pass down the lane from Iguodala, and lobbed another alley-oop, this time finished by Festus Ezeli,
- Curry crossed over D’Angelo Russell and drive into the right side of the lane for another up-and-under scoop,
- After another timeout, Curry buried a triple…

…and
- Steph went past Russell again, this time with a spin with just 32.6 seconds remaining in the quarter.

Curry’s last bucket gave him 24 points on the night to go along with 9 assists as the Warriors took an 89-55 lead into the final frame.
4th Quarter – Bench Unit Mops Up
Warriors interim head coach Luke Walton went with Shaun Livingston, Leandro Barbosa, Iguodala, Jason Thompson (“JT”), and Ezeli to start the mop-up duty.
Ezeli had a nice deep righty jump hook from the edge of the paint and an acrobatic and-one:

That put Golden State up, 101-63, with still 8:01 remaining.
Brandon Rush hit a triple and ended the game with Ian Clark, Barbosa, “JT”, and Marreese Speights.
Barbosa added a dunk after stealing the ball from Metta World Peace.
12 of the 13 Warriors that played, scored. The only one not to score was Clark, even as he rebounded the last Lakers miss and, in a show of sportsmanship, dribbled up the court to run out the clock.
The final score was 111-77 and the Warriors set an NBA record with 16 straight wins to start the season.
