WARRIORS PRACTICE FACILITY, OAKLAND, CA — Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr gave reporters an update on Festus Ezeli‘s injury yesterday after practice.
Ezeli has been listed as “out” for the last four games with a “sore left knee” that he injured against the San Antonio Spurs. After the third missed game at New York, Ezeli was given an MRI the day after, which was inconclusive.
“It’s a cartilage issue. Sometimes these things aren’t easily diagnosed on an MRI. That’s why we’re getting more opinions,” said Kerr.
“From what I gather, he’s going to meet with his agent and his doctor. We’ve got a few different doctors involved, team doctors, but also specialists involved.”
Kerr said that there should be an update in the next couple of days and does not expect him to play, especially with the NBA All-Star break coming up, which would provide additional rest without any cost of missed games.
“We only have 3 games ’til the break,” said Kerr. “We’re not going to do anything crazy. We’re just hoping for a good outcome and we’ll be cautious with it.”
